Fees and Insurance

Our fees are based on the time and skills needed to handle you or your child’s eye care needs with expertise. Payment of fees is expected at the time of service. If you are unable to pay at the time of your visit, payment arrangements should be made prior to the appointment. Pediatric Eyecare of Western Colorado, P.C. is pleased to offer insurance billing services. We ask your assistance in providing complete and accurate insurance information for each family member at the time of service. Dr. Lenahan participates with many insurance companies, including Rocky Mountain Health Plans, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Medicaid and Medicare. However, we are unable to bill any vision plans. If you have questions regarding fees, insurance, or your statements, please call our billing department.

Referrals

If your insurance carrier requires a referral to see a specialist, please obtain this prior to your appointment.

Advanced Beneficiary Notification: Refraction

Checking a person for glasses is called a refraction. A refraction is performed as part of a complete eye examination, regardless of whether glasses are prescribed or not. Some insurance companies do not pay for a refraction, even though it is part of a comprehensive evaluation. Therefore, we collect this minimal charge in advance. If you are charged for a refraction and it is found to be a covered benefit by your insurance company, you will be issued a full refund.

Payment Information

We accept Visa and Mastercard. Checks payable to Pediatric Eyecare of Western Colorado.

Referrals are required for State Medicaid Patients.
