Dr. Lenahan
Dr.
Deborah S. Lenahan was born in Greenwood, Mississippi and spent her
formative years in Alabama. Dr. Lenahan obtained both her undergraduate
and medical degrees from the University of Alabama. She completed
her internship and served several months as a resident in Internal
Medicine at the University Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. She
completed her residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Alabama
Medical Center and the Eye Foundation Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama.
Dr. Lenahan completed a six-month fellowship in vitreo
retinal surgery before beginning her practice as a Board Certified
Ophthalmologist in January 1983, with Davidson Eye Associates in
Lexington, North Carolina. Prior to being recruited by Western Rockies
Eye Center in Grand Junction, Colorado, in July of 2001, Dr. Lenahan
completed a 12-month fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Adult
Strabismus at the University of Iowa in Iowa City. During her fellowship,
she trained with mentors that are recognized internationally in that
field. In August 2007, Dr. Lenahan established Pediatric Eyecare
of Western Colorado, P.C. She is currently the only Pediatric Ophthalmologist
on the Western Slope between Denver and Salt Lake City. Dr. Lenahan
is married and has two children. She enjoys taking part in the many
recreational opportunities offered in western Colorado.
